What Data We Collect
When you use our platform, we collect:
- Personal information (name, email address, username, phone number)
- Account settings and preferences
- Business listings and associated content
- Reviews and ratings you've submitted
How to Delete Your Data
Method 1: Through Your Account Settings
If you have an active account, you can delete your data directly:
- Sign in to your account at indyblackbusinesses.com/login
- Navigate to Settings → Profile
- Scroll down to the "Change Password" section
- Click on the "Delete account" button (located at the bottom left of the Change Password section)
- Enter your password to confirm your identity
- Review what will be deleted and confirm the deletion request
Note: Your account will be scheduled for deletion and you'll receive an email confirmation once the deletion is complete. If you would like to cancel the request, please email info@indyblackbusinesses.com.
Method 2: Contact Our Support Team
If you're unable to access your account or prefer to request deletion via email:
- Send an email to info@indyblackbusinesses.com
- Include the subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
- Provide the following information:
- Your full name
- Email address associated with your account
- Username (if applicable)
- Reason for deletion (optional)
- We will verify your identity and process your request
What Happens When You Delete Your Data
When you request data deletion, the following will occur:
- All your personal information will be permanently removed
- Your account settings and preferences will be lost
- You will no longer have access to your account features
- Your business listings (if any), including associated reviews and ratings, will be deleted
- You will no longer be able to manage or update your listings
- This action is permanent and cannot be undone
Processing Time
Once you submit a deletion request, your account will be scheduled for deletion. You will receive an email confirmation once the deletion is complete.
Password Requirement
When deleting your account through the settings, you'll need to enter your current password (minimum 8 characters) to confirm your identity and authorize the deletion request.
